Are you ready for the 7th annual MENA Angel Investors Summit?

Tenmou, Bahrain’s first ‘Business Angels’ company, has officially opened registration for the 7th MENA Angel Investors Summit 2018. All interested participants may register for the event by Sunday, October 28th 2019.

The 2018 Summit, which comes as part of Global Entrepreneurship Week, will be held on the 12th of November 2018 at the Ritz-Carlton Bahrain in partnership with the Labour Fund “Tamkeen”, along with the support of Alba, Bahrain Development Bank (BDB) and Rowad as event partners.

The leading annual summit has achieved immense success over the years in light of its facility to bridge the gap between angel investor networks and venture capitalists within the MENA region.

This year’s theme will revolve around strategic investments and investors’ education and will feature a panel of experts to address the importance of the role that angel investors play to ensure better business performance through knowledge sharing, implementing best industry practices, and sharing experience relevant to the start-up ecosystem.

The summit will also feature ‘break out sessions’ aimed at both investors and startups, hosted by Venture Souq, an investment platform for global early-stage technology businesses and BDB respectively; allowing the attendees the opportunity to gain insights from engaging discussions and exchange ideas in a collaborative environment.

The Chief Executive of Tamkeen, Dr. Ebrahim Mohammed Janahi, commented, “The MENA Angel Summit is a key event held as a part of the Global Entrepreneurship Week. The summit plays a vital role in enabling local startsups to establish contact and secure funding. The success of Bahraini start-ups is a main pillar in order to develop a strong entrepreneurial ecosystem in the Kingdom.”

Chief Executive Officer of Tenmou, Mr. Nawaf Al Koheji, revealed, “We are expecting a great turn out for the exciting line-up planned for this years’ MENA Angel Investor Summit. We have already received numerous applications through our online registration portal and we encourage people to sign up early to attend this event.”

“We would like to thank our partner, Tamkeen, and our event partners for their support. Our ultimate aim with this event is to encourage the diversification of investments. Family-owned businesses, for instance, should look into a more diversified approach and invest in start-ups and local talents,” he added.

One of the main highlights of the summit is the, “Start Up Pitches”, which provides 30 entrepreneurs with the golden opportunity to present their ideas and get funded. Participants can also benefit from training sessions delivered by Brian Frankel, a consultant with multinational marketing experience.

The summit provides unparalleled occasions to network throughout the day; enabling entrepreneurs to establish contact with an extensive list of investors and local partners.  Local and regional investors will also benefit from the opportunity to capitalize on untapped startup prospects, as well as secure value-adding business contacts with industry leaders at the investors’ roundtable networking lunch.

Various community partners are providing support for the MENA Summit; namely Magnitt, Venture Souq, GEW, 500 Startups, StartUp Bahrain, Brinc, Flat6Labs, C5 Accelerate, Nest.
