This week’s main entrepreneurial attraction, The Bahrain Entrepreneurship Exhibition came to a successful end on November 1. As you know, the conference was organized in Manama under the patronage of the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain, His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa Bin Salman Al Khalifa in cooperation with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization Investment and Technology Promotion Office (UNIDO ITPO) and the Arab International Center for Entrepreneurship and Investment.
As we know, the UNIDO ITPO and the Kingdom of Bahrain have been working together successfully on a number of other initiatives, supporting entrepreneurship and industrial development in Bahrain. In addition to that, UNDO ITPO offers a wide variety of services for investors and entrepreneurs such as business development consultancy, joint venture creation, private and public sector partnerships, and more.
The forum theme was “Achieving the SDGs through Entrepreneurship and Innovation”. First, the initiative served as a platform to facilitate contact between entrepreneurs, the government and investors. Furthermore, successful local and international business owners talked extensively about their experiences and shared best practices with the audience. In addition to that, the forum also highlighted the role of female entrepreneurs in the region. Last but not the least, many local entrepreneurs had the chance to showcase their work and meet venture capitalists and business angels in person.
One of the young companies that grabbed the attention of the public was undoubtedly Munfarid Consulting. The Bahraini tech startup, active in the field of Artificial Intelligence, Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality, is the first and the only one partner of Google Expeditions in the GCC region. The guests of the event had the opportunity to experience the AR/VR kits and learn more about the innovative technologies and their application in real life. Dr. Sana Farid, the co-founder, and CEO of Munfarid Consulting stated that her goal was to turn Bahrain into a regional hub of innovation, and enable the local workforce to use latest technologies to excel in every field.
