‘Startup Mornings’, a casual, community-driven get together for startups and entrepreneurs kicked off last month successfully hosting their first guest speaker, Tamkeen Chairman and Acting Chief Executive H.E. Shaikh Mohammed bin Essa Al Khalifa.
In an interactive session with the entrepreneurs, His Excellency Shaikh Mohammed Bin Essa Al Khalifa said, “Tamkeen seeks to provide support and advice to startup entrepreneurs through the various programs that meet the needs of business owners, and through meetings such as the Start Up Mornings, we look forward to working with entrepreneurs and sharing experiences with them and hopefully with each other, creating a communication channel to continually support business ideas and Bahraini youth to work in the private sector.”
Some of the topics discussed during this session were Tamkeen’s upcoming new strategy, programs restructuring, programs processes and how they affect SMEs’ operations, topics related to SMEs success, mentorship, how small businesses can thrive and how they can achieve sustainability and the effectiveness of Tamkeen’s programs on the business sector.
On his part, Mr. Ahmed AlSawafiri, founder of Startup MGZN and Startup Mornings also stated, “Our first startup morning event was attended by over 40 startups and entrepreneurs, all of which, got the opportunity to engage in active discussions amongst each other and with the event’s first guest speaker, Tamkeen’s Chairman and Acting Chief Executive HE Shaikh Mohammed bin Essa Al Khalifa. We think the casual environment we are trying to set up really helps bring the best and most genuine of the attendees. People are usually intimidated, sometimes reserved during conventional and formal events. This is what I have been noticing over the years. We’re hoping to change that through Startup Mornings.”
Startup Mornings is a free-to-attend, monthly get together for startups and entrepreneurs aiming to host the exchange of ideas, inspiring of others, and the recounting of failures. The event’s attendees will also be in the company of a guest speaker, all over breakfast and coffee in a casual, ‘be-yourself’ environment. on a monthly basis.
Startup Mornings is being organized by the dedicated team behind “Startup MGZN”, Bahrain’s first and only digital publication for startups and entrepreneurs. Startup Mornings also marks the inauguration of Startup MGZN’s recent strategic partnership with Tamkeen and Bahrain Development Bank.
