Bahrain’s Labor Fund, Tamkeen, is a pioneer in providing support to the entrepreneurial community and the startup ecosystem in the country, with that support taking many shapes and forms, directed towards various sectors, including the ICT sector.
Tamkeen’s recent announcement of its Strategic Partnership with Bahrain Technology Companies Society ‘BTECH’ is an excellent example of the support Tamkeen provides to the ICT sector in the country, further establishing it as a destination for technology innovation in the region and encouraging entrepreneurship in it.
The partnership comes to support the 10th edition of the leading ICT event in Bahrain, ‘MEET ICT & BITEX 2020.’ Held under the Patronage of H.E. Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed, happening from the 24th of March until the 26th at the Gulf Convention Centre.
This year’s theme is ‘Leading the Way to a Digital Economy,’ organized by BTECH and WorkSmart events management.
CEO of Tamkeen, Dr. Ebrahim Janahi shared: “Supporting initiatives and events like MEET ICT & BITEX aims to increase the contribution of technology companies in the private sector, enhance their competitiveness, develop their business which will, in turn, contribute to our society, as well as encourage them to further improve the rendering of their services and innovations.”
Dr. Janahi stressed Tamkeen’s crucial role in supporting such initiatives due to their purpose, which is to accelerate the growth of Bahrain’s knowledge and economy, ultimately being aligned with Bahrain’s vision of building a digital economy.
