After Raising $4.5 Million, Australian Tourism Technology Startup ‘Local Measure’ Plans Expansion to Dubai

Australian tech startup Local Measure has announced a successful capital-raising round of $4.5 million and made plans to open Dubai and Los Angeles offices, Business Insider reported on January 24, 2017. The Sydney-based company provides “social customer intelligence” to hotels and theme parks, or real-time data tools that allow hospitality staff to intervene before a problem arises. This will help develop client loyalty and avoid bad online reviews.

Local Measure also announced that they would open a sales office month in the tourist hub of Dubai, while a Los Angeles branch would launch within the current quarter. The company already has a presence in Sydney, Singapore, London and Miami. The startup client portfolio includes AccorHotels, Hardrock, Qantas and Club Med.
