This Bahraini female-led startup will help you kick off your event in no time

Have an upcoming event, ghabga, or even a birthday party that you don’t know how to plan for? We get it, events planning can be time-consuming and incredibly draining – but you really need to host that event ASAP, what do you do in this case?

Startup MGZN spoke to Nahla Al Mahmood, the owner of LalaBella Events Boutique, an events management company in addition to being a flower and chocolate shop. LalaBella basically does miracles and helps you out of your crises, we promise! How? Read on to find out.

Nahla was passionate about organizing events that create memorable experiences for people, and so in 2012, she launched LalaBella with the sole vision of introducing something fresh and new to the events industry.

Within a short period of time, Nahla managed to transform LalaBella into all-encompassed events boutique that organizes high-end corporate events, fashion, exhibitions and social events. Not only that, but LalaBella also offers flower and chocolate arrangement services, in addition to gift wrapping services, and giveaways. LalaBella has come a long way where it has grown from a small office to have two branches, one located in Muharraq, and the other one in Moda Mall, Manama.

We asked Nahla about what LalaBella does better than other events management companies and she told us that no one can compete with their special personal touch in the services they provide. “We were always known for our elegance, high quality, and clean finish results, and taking that extra mile to personalize our customer experience with our personal touch that’s reflected in all our business streams,” Nahla says.

But launching your own business can be tricky and quite challenging, you sometimes lack the funds, the expertise, the machines, support, and the list goes on. That’s why according to Nahla, Tamkeen played a crucial part in the growth of LalaBella.

“As any startup, finance was one of biggest challenges any startup faces to grow their business. With Tamkeen‘s support schemes we got what the company needed by only paying 50% of these costs,” Nahla states. She adds that because of Tamkeen’s help, this resulted in the growth of LalaBella at its early stages. “This is a true example of how Tamkeen can help startups become established companies and to take off,” Nahla says.

Tamkeen is a semi-governmental organization in Bahrain that supports entrepreneurs and businesses, individuals, and even students through its various programs and initiatives. So far, Tamkeen has over 200 programs that mainly focus on funding and financing, skill and career progression, customized employment schemes, and entrepreneurship exposure.

Nahla told us that she would never have thought that LalaBella would survive its early stages, especially with the financial issues they had at the very beginning where they needed a huge investment. “We had to constantly plan to take the right decisions to keep the business thriving,” Nahal shares. “Now, After 6 years of establishment, I have to say, Tamkeen has a huge credit of LalaBella’s success, not just financially, but morally as well. All of Tamkeen’s staff were a huge support to this company and helped the business grow in all its aspects. So Thank you, Tamkeen,” she concludes.
