Tamkeen Bahrain’s Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW), a week dedicated to celebrate and unite entrepreneurs to present beneficial workshops, conferences and events, for the good of the economy as well as developing the spirit of entrepreneurship in the country.
#GEW2019 will officially begin on Sunday, 17th of November with more than 30 events happening, at some cases there’s more than one event a day. Need help filtering your options? We listed a few events to help you organise your calendar. Perhaps you should check out GEW Bahrain’s schedule over here to check out your options. Otherwise, let the games begin!
Zoholics is a conference by Zoho, a US SaaS company, and they’re coming for the first time in Bahrain! Hint: use our promo code ZSTUPMGZN on their registration website over here and get a 100% discount on your ticket! In the conference, you’ll be up-to-date on Zoho’s latest solutions and products, learn how to utilise Zoho’s solutions to enhance the workflow of your business, and meet inspirational Zoholic speakers! All of which to take place on the 20th of November, from 8 am until 6 pm, at Crowne Plaza Bahrain.
As a startup founder or business owner, of course getting funding is a top priority for you. MENA Angel Investors Summit is a great opportunity to get exposure on investment opportunities from all sorts of industries all over the region. The Summit is organised by Tenmou, Bahrain’s first Business Angels Company, which provides mentorship as well as capital for Bahraini entrepreneurs who’ve reached a viable stage in their paths. So what’s the drill? This year, 30 startups will share their pitches at the Summit, which will take place on the 18th of November, from 8 am till 2 pm at the Ritz-Carlton Bahrain.
It’s needless to say that networking is at the top core skills you have to practically master to succeed in today’s business world! For those who haven’t heard of Al-Majlis, it’s a Bahraini application designed specifically for the purpose of creating a somewhat informal environment that connects people. Similarly, the event will follow the same philosophy on the 17th of November, from 6-9 pm (get off of work and attend straight ahead!), at Crowne Plaza Bahrain.
Organised by Bahrain FinTech Bay (BFB), the weekend takes off from the 21st until the 23rd; from 6:30 until 10 pm. Picture this: an entire weekend dedicated to pitch a FinTech-related idea, then execute it with a team of professionals; mainly software developers, graphic designers, and business people. During the weekend, you’ll also get discounts from BFB’s local partners, WiFi connection to get your show on the road, 7 meals throughout the weekend (you didn’t think they’d keep you hungry for 54 hours, did you?), mentorship, and of course, networking!
If you’re on social media, you must’ve seen a video, a picture, or at least came across Bo Nabeel’s account (It might come as a shock to you that his name is Bader Al-Essa, not Bo Nabeel. Just kidding!). He’s a Kuwaiti entrepreneur well known for the series of entrepreneurship stories he shares on his YouTube channel here. In his session, he will talk about all that comes after finding your “passion” (as the session is titled). Your next steps, how to build your business from scratch, how to monetize from your passion. The session will be on the 23rd of November, from 4-8 pm, at Gulf Hotel.
As the title suggests, the event will be consisting of an engaging panel discussing the ways in which the right board help you accelerating and accomplishing the growth of your startup. It will be held on the 19th of November, from 5-7 pm, at Arcapita (Bahrain FinTech Bay – 3rd Floor). The panel includes industry experts Leena Al Olaimy, Heather Henyon, Kalyan Krishnan, Areije Al Shakar, Khalid Saad, Marwa Al Eskafi, Ryan Sharif, and Joy Ajlouny. Don’t miss out on the chance to learn how to detour from founders’ common mistakes with their startup board!
An interactive panel consisting of Lana Al Attar, Doris Martin, Saba Saleem, Najma Ghuloom, Ryaan Sharif, who will discuss ways to break current barriers and solve problems for women in the startup ecosystem and sector. In addition to promoting and encouraging their efforts, of course! The event will be at Flat6Labs Bahrain (they’re at NBB Tower) from 3-5 pm.
