Zain Bahrain, a leading telecommunications provider in the Kingdom, hosted a breast cancer awareness session at its headquarters for female employees, lead by Dr. Amal Al Rayes, Chief of Surgery and Consultant General Surgical Oncologist at Salmaniya Medical Centre, and Head of Ministry of Health’s Breast Cancer Screening Committee.
During her session, Dr. Al Rayes discussed the importance of having regular checkups, shared facts, and figures related to breast cancer in the Kingdom, and discussed the latest techniques used to diagnose and treat instances of breast cancer.
Alongside the session and to reinforce the importance of awareness, Zain Bahrain’s employees held a sale of baked and handmade goods, with proceeds raised to support individuals undergoing breast cancer treatment.
Abdulla Al-Khalifa, Director – Corporate Communications and Investor Relations, Zain Bahrain, said: “With more than 2 million new cases of breast cancer registered worldwide in 2018 alone, it is exceptionally important to us to empower our colleagues with the information that could, potentially, save their life. We thank Dr. Amal for providing us with an informative and engaging session, which has transformed the way that we think about this disease.”
