Press Release.
VO, the first Kuwait-based integrated youth platform for incubating young talents, and the Association of Small and Medium Enterprises of Kuwait (ASMEK) launched an agreement with the Kuwait Football Association to provide a space for Kuwait’s small and medium companies to exhibit their businesses, products, and services at no cost during His Highness the Emir’s Cup Final taking place on 21 December 2021 at Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium.
In an official statement, the President of the Kuwait Football Association, His Excellency Sheikh Ahmed Al Yousef Al Sabah, praised the efforts of VO and ASMEK in supporting Kuwait’s small and medium enterprises and expressed his optimism that such partnerships will lead businesses in Kuwait to rapidly recover the economic repercussions of the pandemic and grow faster than expected.
He then added: “The Kuwait Football Association welcomes Kuwaiti businesses to their dedicated space at the Emir’s final cup. We look forward to supporting Kuwaiti brands in any way possible and be inspired with their unique ideas and high quality products.”
The joint-efforts of VO and ASMEK come as part of their memorandum of understanding that was signed in October 2021 to provide abounding opportunities to support the recovery and growth of the small and medium enterprises in Kuwait. VO and ASMEK’s partnership will also launch multiple projects that will offer Kuwaiti brands and businesses the opportunity to integrate other markets in the region.
“After VO’s success in empowering and publicly highlighting Kuwaiti talents in the field of media and entertainment, we are now tapping into other talents and interests of Kuwaiti youth including leadership, sports, culinary, and many more. However, entrepreneurship is definitely one of our important pillars. Thus, our goal is to support Kuwaiti small and medium businesses to swiftly recover and start launching programs that will help our brands integrate other markets,” stated Ms. Riham Al Ayyar, CEO of VO Kuwait.
In her statement, she also underscored the importance of considering Kuwait’s small and medium enterprises in such major official events that will gain local and regional traffic whether physically or through media coverage. Ms. Al Ayyar explained that entities in Kuwait should work together by all means to globally position Kuwait and support its economic diversification. She stressed on the importance of consolidating all state efforts towards achieving those goals and considering Kuwaiti talents and entrepreneurs in their decisions, events, and public campaigns.
The Chairman of ASMEK, Mr. Mohammed Al Anjari, announced that all interested businesses can start applying for an exhibition slot through the official website of the association, starting 8 December 2021 until 11 December 2021. He also expressed his gratitude towards the Kuwait Football Association for their strong interest in supporting Kuwait’s small and medium enterprises and providing all the necessary facilities, logistics, and coordination to provide a well-equipped space for Kuwaiti businesses to exhibit their products and services during the major event.
In his statement, he reaffirmed ASMEK’s commitment towards Kuwait’s small and medium enterprises and added: “We would like to assure Kuwaiti entrepreneurs that we are focusing all our efforts to support their recovery and establish partnerships that will provide them with fruitful opportunities to grow their businesses in Kuwait and across other markets.”
