VIVA Bahrain, one of the leading telecom operators in the country continues its partnership with Huawei. They tested and deployed the first ATCA-NFV hybrid cloud core network in the world, as a step towards offering cutting-edge mobile service technologies. Since 2016, the companies have been working together on the unified cloud platform as a foundation for future network development.
VIVA analyzed the unified cloud platform benefits carefully to create the ”One Cloud” core network construction plan. It overlaid the current Huawei’s cloud platform with a cloud IMS and cloud EPC network without having a negative impact on the live network services.
As the unified cloud infrastructure hosts the service networks, the resource use and operations and maintenance efficiency are improved. As a result, the time to market is significantly shortened. After the launch of the unified CloudIMS, CloudDRA, and CloudEP, VIVA pooled them successfully with the traditional network improvements to secure service migration and smooth network deployment and service migration.
Earlier this summer, VIVA Bahrain, has started offering new 4G and LTE-advanced services, paving the path towards 5G services. The telecom operators got access to a nationwide 4G + LTE network. It is twice as fast as the traditional 4G. The internet speed boosted from 150Mbps to 225Mbps on VIVA Bahrain’s network to guarantee faster browsing and video streaming of online content at a higher speed and quality. The next big step for VIVA Bahrain would be to create a Giga network in the Kingdom and to uplift Bahrain’s capabilities to be an ICT powerhouse. In addition to that, VIVA Bahrain also recently teamed up with the Capital Club, Kingdom’s leading private city club. The mobile operator became its exclusive telecom partner, offering its members top-notch solutions in the field of connectivity.
