US-based Nylas secures $16 million of funding, here is how the platform is going to change the way you do things

Nylas, the US-based unified communications API that integrates software with email, calendars, and contacts has recently scored $16 million in Series B funding. The funding was led by Spark Capital with aid from several other investors as well.

The Nylas API works in a way that it powers up the communication layer in software applications allowing it to handle a hefty 100 million requests per day. A whopping 22,000 developers have already signed up and are looking forward to test the new the platform – if that doesn’t say something about Nylas, then I don’t know what does. “Nylas’ goal is to become the default tool for developers building applications that integrate with inbox data. In the API world, Stripe is viewed as the trusted payments API, Twilio is the trusted SMS/Voice API. Now, Nylas is becoming the trusted API for integrating with email, calendar, and contacts data,” said Gleb Polyakov, CEO of Nylas.

In the past year, Nyla’s annual recurring revenue has more than doubled, and it plans on continuing this growth and expansion with the aid of the Series B funding. “We believe Nylas has an opportunity to be the communications layer for every major software company, from SaaS companies to ISVs,” said Andrew Parker of Spark Capital. “The company has incredibly strong growth, and we’re thrilled to help take them to the next stage.”
