UK Company Joins Fintech Hive

The Welsh fintech company Delio was the only UK startup to join a unique accelerator program in Dubai. Launched by Accenture and Fintech Hive, the initiative consists of a 12-week program in which the 11 finalists collaborate with financial institutions to come up with real solutions to issues the fast growing financial industry in the region has. Among the finalists, there are representatives of the USA, Jordan, India, Azerbaijan, Sweden, the UK, Singapore, and Dubai.

Delio is the only company from the United Kingdom to participate in the event. Delio enables financial institutions to connect private asset investments with high net worth capital through white-label platforms.

CEO of Delio, Gareth Lewis commented:

Being the only UK fintech to make it onto the program is a huge validation of the Delio solution and the role we can play in helping institutions connect private investors with investment opportunities across borders.

Lewis also added that currently half of the Delio’s income comes from export sales. Therefore, he sees many opportunities for growth in the UAE.

The first phase of the program starts with meetings with decision makers from leading local financial institutions, including Emirates NBD, HSBC, Citi, Dubai Islamic Bank, and more. The startups will present their solutions and will discuss potential mentorship opportunities. The second phase involves engagement with partners and legal guidance. The selected candidates will get legal advice on the region’s judicial framework and how to operate legally here. The last phase will prepare the finalists for the investors’ pitching in November.
