This Egyptian Startup Secured a Six-figure in Investment

Wouldn’t it be awesome if you got rid of your waste, and got something in return? Well, Bekia is doing that! It’s an Egyptian application that gives people the chance to sell their household waste, and in exchange, gives them credit points to purchase groceries and supplies!

Bekia, which was founded by Alaa Afifi Kamal in 2017, has successfully secured a six-figure investment from Oman-based accelerator, OTF Wadi

Since its conception, Bekia has completed more than 10,000 orders, receiving more than 20,000 tons of solid waste during so.

“But what happens to the waste Bekia receives,” you might wonder. Bekia sells them back to SMEs and recycling factories! Sometimes, they receive electronic devices; those are fixed and resold in the market as well!
