Tamkeen Bahrain Meets the Art Sector

As part of its efforts to directly engage  Bahrain’s various sectors, Tamkeen (Labour Fund) held a meeting with a broad cross-section of representatives of the local art community, including artists and professionals and enthusiasts.

The meeting’s purpose was to discuss how to enhance the services and support solutions Tamkeen provides to cater to this emerging sector and advance its growth.

At the meeting, Dr. Ebrahim Mohammed Janahi Chief Executive of Labour Fund Tamkeen underscored the importance of supporting people in turning their craft into a career and encouraging artists to establish enterprises to boost the contribution of the arts sector to the Kingdom’s national economy.

“Tamkeen supports the economic growth of all sectors, whether in the area of talent development by facilitating training and professional certifications, or in the area of business growth and subsequent high-value job creationthrough an integrated suite of financial, technical and advisory support programs. These support areas collectively contribute to the economic diversification objectives of the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The meeting attendees included artists and craftsmen from various fields and disciplines such as fine and contemporary arts, sculpture, photography, cinematography, to name a few. 

Tamkeen previously announced the launch of its sector advisory initiative to boost direct engagement customers from the various economic sectors, consult on possible enhancements to Tamkeen’s programs and offerings and ensure that they effectively cater to each sector’s specific needs.
