Talabat your grocery in 15 minutes with ‘Daily,’ the region’s first ‘dark store’

Talabat, the online food ordering business that transformed the region’s consumer habits, is now all set to disrupt the grocery business model with the launch of the first dark store in the Middle East and North Africa region.

Daily, the new online initiative by Talabat, ensures grocery goods are delivered to the customers’ doorsteps in just 15 minutes. Assuring the convenience of doing grocery shopping online, Daily by Talabat stands out for its lowest time to deliver goods and its affordable price point.

But what exactly is a dark store? Daily, the region’s first dark store, is a leap in technology that enables customers to enjoy the best delivery experience possible. Daily combines the convenience of a local shop with the price point and variety of a supermarket. Crucially, orders are delivered within 15 minutes flat. With no costly storefront, customers are able to get exactly what they need, delivered exactly when they need it.

Customers can access Daily through the Talabat App, available on the Apple Store or Google Play. Daily is available under the grocery filter card displayed on the App.

Uniquely tailored to the region, Daily by Talabat has been launched to address customers’ needs for a fast service that delivers everyday goods. With Daily, customers only have to go to the feature on the Talabat App, order their choice of grocery products 24×7 and have them delivered to their doorstep in just 15 minutes.

The 15-minute promise, in addition to the vast array of grocery products they can shop for, and the affordable price point, are set to make Daily by Talabat the go-to online store for customers in the region, who are either inconvenienced by the lack of easy access to grocers or the waiting time for the products to be delivered.

Tomaso Rodriguez, Chief Executive Officer of Talabat, said: “When online food delivery was unheard of in the region, Talabat brought a new way of food ordering that has now become the industry norm. Today, with Daily, we are once again revolutionizing a business sector that holds tremendous potential.

We couldn’t think of a better place to launch the region’s first dark store than Kuwait, our birthplace and one of the most dynamic markets in the region. Kuwait is a place where new ideas can come to life and thrive. This is why we want our Kuwaiti customers to be the first to experience Daily. We are looking to roll out Daily across all markets in the next several months.

We’ve been listening to our customers and based on their feedback and to meet their lifestyle aspirations, we have launched this new service. With Daily by Talabat, customers can order grocery goods conveniently, at supermarket prices, and find more time to enjoy the moments that matter.”

Talabat has set in place one of the most efficient supply chains to ensure seamless delivery of grocery products ordered via Daily in 15 minutes. “There is a lot that goes into achieving this in terms of investment, operations and logistics. Ultimately, our purpose is to help people create and enjoy the moments that matter. Daily is a solution that allows people to spend less time doing menial tasks and more time creating moments with family and loved ones. As the region’s first ‘dark store,’ Daily will transform the industry and bring greater efficiencies across the supply chain. Our promise with Daily is simple: get what you need in the fastest time possible.”

Announcing plans to expand the service across the GCC, Rodriguez added: “With Daily, we’re delivering all our user’s daily needs, from fruit to detergent to ice cream and more. We have a big offering that ranges from quick snacks to fresh produce to healthy foods – everything that a family needs.”

Since launch, the most ordered goods on Daily include water, soft drinks, and ice cream, as well as non-food items such as tissues and laundry detergent. Customers order most during the night and over weekends. Customers have been ordering their quick daily needs as well as their weekly grocery top-ups.
