Seedstars World, the largest seed-stage startup competition for emerging markets and fast-growing startup scenes, hosted its Riyadh round at AstroLabs in partnership with Badir.
The Seedstars team shortlisted the top 10 seed-stage startups who pitched on September 27 for the opportunity to compete at the Seedstars Global Summit, which annually takes place in Switzerland where they will get the chance to win up to USD 500,000 in equity investments and other prizes.
The local winners were chosen for their innovative sustainable solutions in their different fields. The 1st winner of the competition was Quantum Targeted Sampling: A data-driven targeted sampling platform that aims to digitize the sampling industry and help make more accurate.. In second place came Vetwork, one stop marketplace for high quality ultra convenient petcare services delivered to your doorstep. As for the third place, it was taken by SaNoor, a high-speed laser transceiver based LiFi system enables 100,000x faster data communication links between underwater devices.
The list of the Finalists also included: Grintafy Information Technologies, Helper Robot, MayaClinic, Mosawir, Passioneurs, Scientific Saudi and Tammwel
The list of the Jury members included: Khalid Al Mahfouz from Badir, Salman T. Jaffery from Saudi Aramco Entrepreneurship Center (Wa’ed), Ivo Detelinov from Riyadh Taqnia Fund and Amal Dokhan from Global Entrepreneurship Network GEN Saudi at GEN Global
Prior to the pitching event, Seedstars hosted a dynamic training for entrepreneurs. It indulged in the topics around Investment Readiness, the Art of the Pitch, in addition to tailored mentorship sessions with experts from the market. The list included: Qusai Al Saif from Riyadh Taqnia Fund, Sally AlMahfouz from Badir, Basmah Alsinaidi from Impact Fund and Hadi AlShakori from H2Solutions.
