NBB further enhances digital offering to ensure business continuity & safeguard customers

The National Bank of Bahrain (NBB) announced further enhancements to its digital offerings which include its Cash Deposit Machine (CDM) cards and enhancements on its Business Online Banking (BOB) platform. These upgrades come in line with the Bank’s efforts to ensure minimal disruptions to its services in light of the current situation and in an effort to safeguard the well-being of its customers.

The CDM cards, which have been provided to ensure business continuity, will enable customers to deposit cash in bulk quantities without the need to segregate notes. Once an amount has been deposited, it is instantly credited to the customer’s NBB account and upon deposit, all customers will directly receive a receipt to confirm the transaction.

The Business Online Banking platform, which was recently enhanced by NBB, was created to provide customers with simple and secure 24/7 access to their business accounts. Business customers now have access to multiple services from the comfort of their own home or office such as the option to view and download their account statements in multiple formats, transfer funds within their own accounts, make bill payments through Fawateer, transfer funds through Fawri+ and Fawri platforms, as well as manage payroll and access salary processing services.

Arif Janahi, Head of Commercial and SMEs at NBB said, “Ensuring seamless business continuity and customer convenience have always been a top priority at NBB, and now more than ever given the current circumstances we are faced with. Our teams have been working tirelessly to enhance and upgrade existing banking solutions that allow customers to complete their banking requirements with ease. As such, we have upgraded our offerings to include the CDM card which supports social distancing and also allows customers to save time, avoid queues and eliminate any gatherings – ultimately ensuring the safety of everyone while enabling business operations to continue as normal.”

Zied Jalali, Head of Structured Finance & Transaction Banking also commented, “Through utilising the Business Online Banking platform, we are empowering our customers who as a result, will be able to take their financial matters into their own hands without the need to visit the branch. In these trying times we urge our customers to utilise the platform, where they can easily and conveniently execute the necessary transactions required for day-to-day business operations.”

Applications for the aforementioned services can be obtained from nbbonline.com. Once the application forms are completed and stamped, they can then be directly emailed to the Relationship Managers, or to c&sme@nbbonline.com for CDM cards and bobsupport@nbbonline.com for BOB.

The CDM cards will also be available for pickup from NBB’s Main Branch or sent to the customer via courier. Clients who have applied for BOB will be contacted by NBB’s business online banking support team for guidance on how to fill in the form and to provide system training.

Public CDM Machines can be found at NBB’s Seef Mall, Atrium Mall, Budaiya, Muharraq Souq, Al-Muthanna, Muharraq Central, Qalali, Salmaniya, North Muharraq, Isa Town, Sitra and Main branches. For further information please get in touch with the Contact Centre on +973 1721 4433.
