Last Paper Transaction in 2021!

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai launched the Smart Dubai 2021 initiative, marking the next step of smart and sustainable development in the UAE.

According to him, by 2021, the Dubai government will issue its last paper transaction. What does that mean? Well, it means that Dubai is thinking along the lines of sustainability and smart development – and that can only happen through advanced technology, which they’re currently and gradually shifting towards.

“While we’ve already seen a great shift towards digital government transactions, I believe that the future of [our] government will be entirely paper-free. The government of the future will set plans and strategies to ensure the best possible standard of living for people and to save them time and effort. In 2021, we will celebrate the very last paper transaction in Dubai, and Smart Dubai will see to it that we achieve this mission,” he added.
