Egypt-based Emonovo closes a bridge round

Emonovo (formerly MARJ3) is MENA’s EdTech platform and has secured an undisclosed bridge round with capital from Flat6Labs and strategic angel investors. The Marj3 platform was created in July 2016 by Abdo Samy, Sami Al-Ahmad, and Ahmed Elgebaly as a comprehensive database offering educational opportunities for Arab youth globally in a simplified manner.

In 2020, Marj3 education services established help for Arab students in discovering and finding the most suitable universities worldwide. The three co-founders decided to shift their focus from the scholarship industry to the university and student matching industry in 2022. Marj3 changed its name to Emonovo in March 2022 after undergoing various internal and external changes.

Chief Investment Officer of Flat6Labs, Dina El-Shenoufy, stated: “Flat6Labs has been a firm believer in Emonovo’s team and platform from day one. This investment is a testament to our belief in Emonovo’s mission to empower students in the MENA region in their educational journey. We’re excited to see how the team will develop their platform even further and support more potential students towards fulfilling their educational ambitions in the best universities around the world.”

This investment aims to advance the new brand strategy and accelerate platform-based university onboarding & student recruitment growth. The platform technology will also be updated in order to enhance data management and matching.

CEO & Co-Founder at Emonovo, Sami Al-Ahmad, concluded: “This strategic investment round is going to help us make Emonovo available to more students than ever before. Our mission is to help students achieve their educational dream, and I am super excited that our investors are aligned with us on making our unique solutions and technology experience available for everyone soon.”
