BBK just partnered up with the largest dedicated FinTech hub in the MENA region

BBK, one of Bahrain’s pioneering banks has announced its partnership with Bahrain FinTech Bay (BFB), the largest dedicated FinTech hub in the MENA region.

Through the partnership, BBK and BFB plan to accelerate the pace of innovation within the banking sector, in addition to creating opportunities and solutions that would further promote the development of Bahrain. According to BBK, this partnership comes in line with the bank’s vision to consolidate technology development, and at the same time benefit from modern technologies to deliver products and services to its customers in the most innovative and efficient manner.

Mr. Reyadh Yousif Sater, Chief Executive of BBK said: “The objective of the collaboration between BBK and BFB is to strengthen Bahrain’s position as a leading financial and economic center in the region and a hub for innovation. We always look forward to new initiatives that promote the best solutions and alternatives for the growth of the financial and economic sector of in Bahrain.”

BBK has always been a pioneer in adopting modern technology in its banking offering, to serve its customers in the most efficient and smooth manner. From its online banking services and website, designed to facilitate easy access for all customers, to being the first to introduce the latest ATMs designed to withdraw money without ATM cards, and the launch of Interactive Teller Machines (ITM), that allows customers to complete transactions and banking services through video call, BBK continues to invest heavily in technological advancement. Additionally, investment in technology is not limited to customer service, but also includes employees; by incorporating modern technology into the training environment of the Bank, with the e-learning platform that allows employees to access training courses from anywhere and at any time.

BFB, with an area of over 10,000 square feet of usable space, is located in the Arcapita building overlooking the waters of Bahrain Bay and the Arabian Gulf and comprises state of the art facilities, co-working spaces, communal areas, and a variety of other shared infrastructure. As a co-founding partner, BBK rented an office at the hub, to have its own station in the fintech incubator. The contract was signed on 13th March 2018, between Dr. Adel Salem, Assistant General Manager Retail Banking of BBK and Mr. Khalid Saad Chief Executive of Bahrain FinTech Bay.
