Bahrain Economic Development Board along with Investcorp, a provider of alternative investment solutions, announced the launch of the first MIT Enterprise Forum Pan Arab. The event will take place on the 27th and 28th of September at the Four Seasons Hotel in Bahrain. The organizers expect to welcome over 400 visitors, among which managers of global tech companies, journalists, policy makers, entrepreneurs, researchers, and investors.
The goal is to promote and develop the local culture of entrepreneurship, innovation, and technical advancement. It goes in line with the Kingdom of Bahrain’s efforts in this direction as well as with its Economic Vision 2030. It focuses on the knowledge economy, based on sustainability and competitiveness.
The event is the first of its kind in the region. Many prominent local and international speakers will join the event to discuss the latest trends in fintech, artificial intelligence, cyber security, cloud computing, and more. Hala Fadel, Chairperson of the MIT Enterprise Forum Pan Arab, added that the participants would also discuss the fast-paced world we lived in and how it affected the business decisions and entrepreneurship.
H.E. Khalid Al Rumaihi, Chief Executive of the Bahrain Economic Development Board, pointed out that Bahrain’s excellent infrastructure and its proximity to other regional markets, make the country the ideal testing bed for entrepreneurs trying to launch innovative products before expanding regionally and globally:
We at the EDB are proud to have supported MIT in getting its first Innovation Forum off the ground. I hope that it will set the standard for events to come and that the entrepreneurs passing through our doors this year will be engineering solutions to the world’s problems in the future.
