Bahrain is growing to be quite a refreshing hub for startups through its StartUp Bahrain ecosystem, with plenty of events throughout the year to keep startups busy. Among these exciting events is StartUp Weekend organized by volunteer community leaders and held under the patronage of the Central Bank of Bahrain; with this year’s focus being FinTech.
Mark you calendars from the 21st till the 24th of November as StartUp Weekend takes place in Bahrain FinTech Bay. The event is supposed to go for 54 hours, with the schedule of each day’s exact agenda being provided on their website.
But in a nutshell, what happens is that you pitch your idea and form or join a team of skilled individuals to execute it. According to their website, the terms and conditions for your idea is that it should “be something you have not previously worked on. The idea you pitch and the problem you set out to solve can span social, educational, financial, environmental, or other issues.”
What adds to the enthusiasm of the event is that it’s not just for individuals; corporates can also participate, making it much more interesting to exchange thoughts and ideas that are relevant in the field of FinTech.
Bahrain Economic Development Board (EDB) has been listed as one of the strategic partners for the event, alongside with Tamkeen Bahrain, NBB, and StartUp Bahrain. We’re pretty thrilled to attend! Book your tickets here if you’re as thrilled!
