Etisalat, a UAE-based telecom group launched its Mobile Cashier service for the Small and Medium Business (SMB) segment in the UAE. This provides them with a hassle-free onboarding and affordable mobile point of sale service.
According to a statement, the service enables these businesses to accept card payments from their customers, and at the same time enjoy valuable mobile business plan benefits anywhere in UAE.
What Etisalat’s Mobile Cashier service basically does is transform merchants’ smart devices into the business-grade point of sale terminals. This enables them to accept debit, credit and pre-paid cards in a simple and more secure manner.
The new service is enriched from its first inception and improved to specifically cater to the needs of the SMB segment. The latest offering includes bundled point-of-sale terminals, attractive mobile voice and data plans, a free smartphone every year, and for the very first time in UAE zero bank commission.

So how does it work? It’s quite simple really. The Mobile Cashier is portable, users will have to download the application on the smartphone, then connect a pocket-sized card reader and voila! They can start accepting any form of card payments in retail stores or on the go!
This new service offers SMBs a variety of packages, which includes a ‘standalone’ plan of Dh119 per month ($32) that entails payment devices (a card reader and a portable printer), in addition to a lifetime warranty. Furthermore, customers can also choose the monthly bundled ‘Essential’ plans for Dh199 a month, which includes on a monthly basis zero bank commissions, local and international minutes, mobile internet, intra-company calling, and a free smartphone every year. The ‘Essential’ plans start from as low as Dh199 per month.
Etisalat’s Mobile Cashier is approved by TRA and compliant with all the security standards in the payment industry including Europay, Mastercard and Visa (EMV) and Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS).
