Bahrain Bourse (BHB) in collaboration with the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF) just announced the official launch of “The Investment Academy” with the attendance of Mr. Abdulkareem Bucheery Chairman of Bahrain Bourse and officials of the Bourse, BIBF, banks and financial institutions.

The “Investment Academy” is held under the patronage of the Minister of Industry, Commerce, and Tourism and the Minister-in-charge of Bahrain Bourse, H.E Zayed Rashid Al-Zayani.

Shaikh Khalifa bin Ebrahim Al-Khalifa, Chief Executive Office of Bahrain Bourse talked about the importance of this initiative and how it contributes to developing the economic growth of Bahrain. “This initiative goes in line with the [Bahrain] Bourse’s strategy that aims at fulfilling BHB’s vision towards enhancing awareness on various investment and trading instruments.”

By now, you’re probably wondering what exactly is The Investment Academy. Well, the Academy is an investor education training provider within the Capital Markets that targets beginners, intermediates, and professional investors to enhance their capital markets knowledge with innovative teaching methods and technologies.

Furthermore, the Academy aims at positing Bahrain as a financial center for banking. This will help in expanding Bahrain’s opportunities and market positioning and allow it to become an intellectual hub for capital markets for training and knowledge. The Investment Academy’s curriculum will include public awareness sessions, professional certifications as well as key trending topics in capital markets.

The BIBF’s Director, Dr. Ahmed Al Shaikh said: “The BIBF’s Centre for Banking aspires to be at the forefront of imparting practical and useful knowledge to all participants who attend its programmes. The Investment Academy is an example of disseminating professional training opportunities on trading, investment, saving, foreign exchange and much more to everyone who is keen to learn the options that are available for investing and saving and enable them to fulfill their personal goals on wealth creation.”

But who is it exactly targeting? The Academy targets a broad spectrum of audiences from students to individual investors and small business investors. It will be covering both professional certifications (including Series 7, Series 79) as well as general Capital Markets focused programmes.

The Investment Academy will help develop the critical skills and capacity of the investment industry to harness the potential of the capital markets. With this, the BIBF aims to train an immense number of participants and become a trusted partner with delivering a range of programmes that meet various levels of investing and trading knowledge to broaden the range of investment awareness and know-how across the Kingdom for seasoned and amateur investors.
