A startup in Jordan with a focus on AgriTech? Meet HASSAD, the first AgriTech accelerator in Jordan

Jordan launches HASSAD, an AgriTech 3-month business acceleration program, supported by ITG Solution, to support startups and SMEs within the agricultural sector.

The accelerator HASSAD was launched as part of Jordan’s ongoing efforts to invest in the agricultural sector by encouraging people to provide tech solutions regarding this field. HASSAD aims to be a catalyst for the development of the agricultural sector in Jordan through their innovative startups.

The accelerator will be achieving this by building a supportive and stimulating environment that captures distinctive AgriTechs solutions and help transform them into companies that are capable of scaling, influencing, and most importantly accelerate the growth and development of the Jordanian economy.

Mohammed Alafranji, HASSAD’s Program Manager comments on the launch of the accelerator saying: “The added value of the accelerator is reinforced by the intensive and specialized 3 months acceleration program, the support from the network of professional mentors and coaches, the access to ITG’s network with local and international bodies related to the sector, grant the access to ITG Agriculture’s farm in the Jordan Valley and ITG’s offices in Cairo, Riyadh, Nairobi and Silicon Valley and finally providing linkages with potential buyers and investors.”

The accelerator HASSAD will be selecting up to 15 startups in its 1st cohort, who will be undergoing an intensive acceleration program. Some of the benefits would include support from HASSAD’S network of professional mentors and coaches, networking with local and international bodies related to the sector, linkage with potential buyers and investors, in addition to access to ITG Agriculture’s farm in the Jordan Valley and ITG’s offices in Cairo, Riyadh, Nairobi and Silicon Valley.
