Startup Oman Continues with Caribou Chats

Startup Oman, the country’s sole platform created by entrepreneurs for entrepreneurs hosted the summer edition of Caribou Chats. The educational initiative designed to promote startup culture features lectures by successful local business owners.

First on the stage was Firas al Musafir, the founder and CEO of Innovation Factory, the first digital manufacturing plant in the sultanate. Physics and astronomy graduate, al Musafir previously worked in the private sector and some government agencies. Sharifa al Barami, the managing director of Wadi Accelerator, has over 16 years of experience in public and private sector. Nowadays, the graduate of the National CEO program ( Cohort I), is a mentor and an entrepreneurship development consultant.

Musafir commented:

Innovation is a natural talent that everyone is capable of. At Innovation Factory, we are democratising innovation and meeting a clear need for an open source lab. However, we see ourselves as part of the bigger picture of innovation and entrepreneurship. We look forward to creating links with all the great work happening in the country.

Sharifa advised the young entrepreneurs to stay always focused and persistent.
