Meet Grow – a unique program that’s going to keep your kids busy this summer

While the crowd is happy about the fact that winter is coming (shout out to GoT fans), the reality is that summer is actually coming, and soon enough kids will be out of school, sulking around the house playing fortnite, or annoying their other siblings, resulting in an unwanted tantrum, and a chronic migraine. Sucks right? How about you avoid all that drama with a program that keeps them occupied in a fun, yet meaningful and educational manner?

Today we introduce you to Grow Learning Space that started in the summer of 2018, and offers unique and engaging programs to support children in their journey in life. Launched by one of our first contributors Zain Alzayani, the Founder and Managing Director of Grow, the program was introduced with a unique proposition for kids in the form of a 4-week summer camp focused on hands-on learning and technology – which was fully-booked out within a week!  Ever since, Grow evolved to create a very successful pop-up program where highly-engaging and learning-focused sessions in various locations around Bahrain.

Grow Learning Space is also taking strides towards developing children’s skills and knowledge in coding and technology. As such, Zain tells us they have partnered up with Bahrain’s Apple flagship store, iWorld to offer coding sessions every Saturday. They’ve also partnered with the Energy Exhibit at Aramco’s King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture to conduct STEM workshops. Grow also collaborated with the Bahrain Authority for Culture & Antiquities and ran several workshops combining art and electrical engineering.

The concept of Grow was brewing in Zain’s head in 2017 when she saw a need for such learning experiences in Bahrain. “As a mother of 2, a daughter aged 10 and a son aged 8, I realized that I wanted my children to be engaged in thought-provoking activities and hence, Grow was born,” she shares.

The idea of Grow was further inspired when Zain signed up her kids to a summer camp in the US two year ago, and after picking her kids up, she realized how they were full of energy and enthusiasm, something which rarely happens during summer camps in Bahrain. This, in turn, sparked Zain’s interest and drove her to do more research on engaging activities and programs for kids. This is where Zain first started to learn more about STEM and how it can be incorporated within programs and workshops for kids.

Zain shares with us that there was another reason that pushed her towards Grow. She was restless. “Working in the corporate world is satisfying, but after some time, you realize that you want to do more for the community and make an impact,” she shares. She then decided to quit her corporate career of 17 years to fully dedicated herself to Grow.

According to Zain, Grow is focused on learning experiences that are equally fun, engaging, and educational. The program continuously offer new topics, new activities, and learners rarely experience repeated activities.

They’re are currently setting up their space in a beautiful location in Riffa and will soon launch allowing you all to register your kids for a wholesome educational experience.

Want your kids, siblings, or niblings to learn how to code? Sign them up for Weekends at iWorld here! The sessions are held every Saturday at iWorld – The Avenues from 12 PM to 1 PM. Best part?! It’s for FREE! Courtesy of iWorld.
