BYHOURS, a leader in Microstays in more than 3000 hotels around the world, is the first and only international online booking platform that allows users to book hotel rooms in city centers and travel hotspots in sets of three, six, and twelve-hour time-slots.
The startup was launched in Barcelona, in 2012 by co-founder and CEO Christian Rodriguez, alongside his co-founder and Chairman Guillermo Gaspart with the aim of bringing flexibility to a business with rigid and stipulate rules: the hotel industry. “We believe that the market trends focus on adapting and tailoring services and products to the client’s personal needs. We help the hotel sector take a step in that direction by customizing the model,” the founders shared with Startup MGZN.
ByHOURS targets international business travelers who are in between meetings, in addition to international travelers during layovers. The hotels listed in BYHOURS are strategically set for the convenience of the travelers as the hotels are located close to the main airports, transport stations, business centers, and city center.
But where is BYHOURS heading next? According to the founders: “Besides turning BYHOURS into a global platform, we aim to consolidate our presence in more than 20 countries and over 600 cities in which we are present in Europe, Latin America and recently the MENA region.” They add that the next goal is to spread the BYHOURS model to a big and challenging market: the USA.
Before concluding, the founders of BYHOURS share with us some valuable advice for aspiring entrepreneurs. “We would advise any young entrepreneur not to rush and jump in any pool. It’s important to launch some business concepts with a previous management experience.”
The founders also advise that while an innovative idea is a good starting point, the main success still relies on execution. “The business will pivot constantly but it would be easy to overcome the difficulties when you have good partners who are ready to adapt to the changes promptly,” they said.
