FITNESS STRENGTH AND STAMINA FOR ENTREPRENEURS: TWO ESSENTIAL QUALITIES FOR YOUR BALANCE AND SUCCESS

Skipping vital parts of your workouts? You might be losing more than you think—and that includes potential income. What does proper exercise have to do with money? It’s all about the mind-body connection.

Strength: The quality or state of being physically strong.*

Stamina: The ability to sustain prolonged physical or mental effort.*

In fitness, strength is required to pull, push, lift, and jump. Stamina is helpful in efficient breathing, stabilizing the heart rate, running, and flexibility. Sports ranked high for stamina include football, volleyball, table tennis, tennis, squash, and swimming. Interestingly enough, sports clubs in Bahrain (and regionally) almost always focus upon stamina when preparing their teams. However, they would need both parts to reach their goals.

Just as athletes require a high degree of physical strength and stamina in order to excel at their chosen sport, entrepreneurs need a balance of both in order to reach their own individual pinnacles of success. Anyone who works out regularly will tell you that daily, sustained exertion will eventually train the mind to become strong, providing mental health benefits ranging from treatment of depression to the development of grit, tenacity, open-mindedness, and patience.

So…as an entrepreneur, do you really need both physical strength and stamina?

Winners always respond with a resounding YES. You do need both, because strength and stamina inevitably work together in sports, in business, and in life. Your dependence upon each of these attributes will undoubtedly vary from one activity to the next.

MOVEMENT IS ALWAYS GOOD FOR YOUR HEALTH, BUT THOROUGHLY EDUCATING YOURSELF ABOUT CUTTING-EDGE BEST PRACTICES WILL GIVE YOU THE RIGHT LONG-TERM RESOLUTION AND HELP TO AVOID INJURIES.

In our region, athletes and clubs tend to focus upon either stamina or strength. At a typical Bahraini gym, you might notice a well-built person who spends hours lifting weights, but won’t even step onto the cardio machine. Another common mistake can be observed in the average Bahraini jogger: their main goal is to lose weight, but they employ no techniques for stretching or strengthening the upper body.

Movement is always good for your health, but thoroughly educating yourself about cutting-edge best practices will give you the right long-term resolution and help to avoid injuries. Thirty minutes of proper cardio, either before or after weight-bearing exercise, will provide you with a stronger body and good stamina that will last longer—even if you have to break up your workouts from time to time. You’ll find that the benefits remain in your muscle memory, just waiting to be tapped for the next challenge.

The same goes for your money mindset. It is crucial that you refresh this superpower each day (or at least every other day) with the confidence and mental power that comes with building a strong and agile body. Significant results over the long term will have a cumulative effect, and inspire you to keep going!
