Zarooq SandRacer: The $350K Supercar Built by a Dubai Startup

A new car known as the Zarooq SandRacer is soon going to hit the market this summer. Mohammed Al Qadi, Iannis Mardell and ex-racer Bruno Laffite, the co-founders of automative startup Zarooq Motors which is based in Dubai, have spent around $350,000 on the prototype of the supercar, all that is built and designed in the UAE.

The car has already caught the attention of car enthusiasts around the world, where BBC’s Top Gear referred to it as a “mutant cross between a BMW X6, Range Rover Evoque and a Dakar racer.”

The idea of the Zarooq startup came to Al Qadi’s mind during a race in the Formula One Grand Prix in Abu Dhabi a couple of years ago. “Laffite wanted to organise a single-make racing series, as the ones that exist in the U.S and Europe, while Mardell and I wished to bring the racing series from the tarmac to the sand,” Al Qadi explains why he opened up Zarooq Startup.

Are you as excited for the SandRacer? We just can’t wait to see the awesome Middle Eastern made car that is going to disrupt the car market!
