Womena concludes its first cycle of its Womentum program and selects 10 finalists!

Womena just selected the top 10 female-led tech startups from among 174 applicants for its first cycle of its Womentum accelerator program that’s about to kick off in July.

The program was launched in March where they received a pool of applicants from female founders of 34 different nationalities across the MENA region. The startups covered a wide range of 15 different industries including education, healthcare, F&B, environment, art, fashion, and more.

Christina Andreassen, Womentum’s program manager was impressed with the number of applicants. “Through the Womentum application process, we were able to discover over 170 tech companies across the Middle East that are founded or co-founded by female entrepreneurs,” she said.

She adds that this is clear proof that the region holds a wealth of talented female leaders and that they’re proud to see women-led companies in diverse sectors such as edutech, health tech, nanotech, and construction tech. “This diversity is reflected in our selection of Womentum’s final cohort, and we can’t wait to present these startups at our final demo day in October,” Christina said.
