Trukker a truck booking app and a second place winner of the startup track at the MITEF Arab Startup Competition announced that it has achieved 1,000 percent growth since its launch in October 2016.
Trukker is currently operating in the UAE, where it allows users to book a truck on the website or app and it provides the user with system generated prices. While they have already entered an estimated $15 billion industry in UAE and KSA alone, Trukker plans on making their way up to KSA by the end of 2017.
Just like Uber, the app provides member transporters with navigation systems and tasks from the app. CEO Gaurav Biswas said: “We are witnessing a lot of our transporters taking the day off when Trukker has not allocated a job to them because they are very busy on other days. We like them getting lazy and relying on the Trukker smartphone for business rather than toiling it in industrial areas waiting for a job every few days.”
