Thuraya, a UAE-based Telecommunications Company, announced the launch of its new service: the IP M2M to support high volume and high throughput machine-to-machine applications.
This new service is designed for efficient communication between devices and to control and consolidate date from remote locations. The platform provides a set of connectivity management features which include usage monitoring, connection control, abnormal session management, geofencing, firewall management, usage traffic graphs, and charts. targets a number of sectors: oil and gas, utilities, renewable energy, banking and government and more.
According to Rashid Baba, Acting Chief Commercial Officer at Thuraya: “The rise in IoT applications and M2M adoption has triggered an increase in demand among several sectors for higher throughput applications deployed over satellite. Some of these solutions include video- and image capturing for surveillance and security; oil and gas real-time applications; smart-grid Remote Terminal Unit recloser connectivity, and wind and solar farm monitoring.”
