The Supreme Council for Environment signs MoU with Tamkeen

The Supreme Council for Environment has recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Labour Fund “Tamkeen”, aimed at training technicians working in the cooling and conditioning field in line with the licensing regulations and legislation in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The Chief Executive of the Supreme Council for Environment, Dr. Mohammed Mubarak Bin Dainah, praised this agreement as a strategic step towards Bahrain’s contribution towards the phase-out of ozone-depleting substances, initiated by the Supreme Council for Environment.

“This agreement embodies the social partnership between the different public institutions and the industrial and service sectors, within an initiative that aims to better serve the community,” he said.

Dr. Bin Dainah said that the Supreme Council for Environment has specially developed the training program to equip the participants with the high professional skills based on the European F-gas Regulation which was launched in 2006. It will also help spread the best practices in cooling and air conditioning maintenance as well as prevent the emission of ozone-depleting gases, with Tamkeen’s support in training the technicians working in this vital field.

For his part, Tamkeen’s Chief Executive Dr. Ebrahim Mohammed Janahi stressed the importance of this cooperation with the Supreme Council for Environment, aiming to level up the skills of professionals working in the different vocational and technical fields.

“This training meets the developmental aims of the Kingdom of Bahrain in light of the best practices, which will positively impact each of the economic and environmental aspects”, he added.

As per this MoU, the Supreme Council for Environment will announce the training of Bahraini technicians in the cooling and conditioning field, while Tamkeen will sponsor and support Bahrainis who are willing to participate within the framework of this training program and support small and medium-sized Bahraini institutions as part of Tamkeen’s support procedures.
