The Bahrain Entrepreneurship Award was a blast and awarded some of the best entrepreneurs in Bahrain, find out who they are this year!

The third edition of the Bahrain Award for Entrepreneurship held under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and Chairman of the Bahrain Economic Development Board, was a huge success. The ceremony took place this Thursday morning, at the Art Rotana Hotel, in Amwaj.

The ceremony was organized by Tamkeen in partnership with the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, and Tourism, the Economic Development Board, the Bahrain Development Bank, the Bahrain Chamber of Industry and Commerce, in addition to its knowledge advisors, the Arab International Centre for Entrepreneurship and InvestmentOffice of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) for Investment and Technology in Bahrain, and EY Bahrain.

As part of their on-going efforts to encourage and promote entrepreneurial spirit and innovation within Bahrain, the ceremony celebrates and honors the amazing achievements of entrepreneurs in Bahrain. Seven winners from various categories were chosen during the award ceremony and received a total of BD150,000 in cash.

Congratulations to the winners who made it this year! Curious about who they are and what they do? Well, here they are:

  1. Micro-Enterprise of the Year: Aisha Abdulmalek owner of Aisha Jewels, a Bahraini jewelry design company. Aisha started her brand in 2017 at the age of 17 and has grown to be a GCC-wide provider of custom-made, high-end jewelry pieces crafted by top goldsmiths in Bahrain and Milan.
  2. Start-Up of the Year: Faisal Khalifeh owner of Solar One, Bahrain’s first solar panel manufacturing facility that has an annual capacity of 15 MegaWatts, or 60,000 panels.
  3. SME of the Year: Mohammed Abdulaal owner of All Food for Food Stuff, a company that specializes in importing, exporting, and trading fresh fruits, veggies, frozen goods and much more.
  4. Enterprise of the Year with International Footprint: Bader Murad owner of Bader Models. It was established in 1998 as a producer of custom-made aircraft models for the international market. Soon after in 2000, new models were added which include yacht and architectural models.
  5. Sustainability in Business Award: Shaikh Rashid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa owner of Peninsula Farms, a project aimed to invest in local agriculture and food security whilst ensuring high nutritional content in a local context and at a competitive price.
  6. Female Entrepreneur of the Year: Dr. Rana Al Ammadi, owner of Dr. Rana’s Aesthetic Health Center that was established in 2014. It’s the first fully integrated aesthetic health center focused on providing scientifically evidence-based and positive outcome aesthetic treatments.
  7. Lifetime Achievement Award: Yusuf bin Ahmed Kanoo, a prominent entrepreneur in Bahrain that established one of the largest and independent-family owned multinationals in the Middle East. They’re involved in a variety of sectors including shipping, logistics, travel, industrial and energy, Kanoo capital and real estate.
