On the path to achieve its vision of fostering an entrepreneurial, innovative and enterprising society in line with the nation’s vision to build a knowledge based economy with quality growth and diversification, the Bahrain Development Bank Group has reached a milestone by training and certifying its team in Management Coaching and Mentoring.
A first batch of the team attended a course delivered by Vector Consultants and were trained to becoming coaches and mentors with a specialization in management and entrepreneurship certified by the Chartered Management Institute – CMI (an accredited professional institution for management based in the United Kingdom). In May 2014 marked the graduation of first group of certified coaches and mentors specialized in providing this service to entrepreneurs in Bahrain.
The certification aims at providing unified, quality, and standardized support toward Bahraini entrepreneurs. Soon enough the BDB will be launching a new program, so keep following our news in Startup Bahrain, Rowad Magazing, and on our instagram @rowad_bh to get updates.
What is coaching?
Coaching is “a method of helping people to develop their skills and knowledge through a one to one relationship with a coach, who provides guidance and support through a range of work-based activities”.
How would it benefit an entrepreneur?
The new Coaching and Mentoring program focuses on enabling entrepreneurs and empowering them to achieve their goals. The coaching program aims to develop individuals to better work toward their goals, whether it is to write a business plan, a milestone in their business cycle, how to startup, management skills, or you name it! The program will provide a holistic approach which includes a detailed tracking program monitoring the entrepreneur’s development in a structured approach.
The program will be delivered by the certified coaches and mentors of BDB. Some of the areas of focus that are coaches and mentors have worked on before are developing entrepreneurial competencies, business guidance, startup and growth coaching, and challenge support. The new program launch date will be announced soon.
