Redback Technologies is Coming to Dubai!

Redback Technologies, a Brisbane clean tech startup has received $1.96 million from the Queensland government to run its project in Dubai. The startup Redback Technologies is co-founded and led by Philip Livingstone, who specialises in residential and commercial solar energy solutions.

According to Livingstone, the Queensland investment is going to help them add more to their team: a team coordinator and two mid-level engineers that will assist the startup in creating and deploying advanced monitoring systems in renewable energy for the next three years.

Redback Technologies also signed a memorandum of understanding with the Dubai government’s Duserve Facilities Management. They will be collaborating on a solar solutions project at Dubai South which is a new smart city that expects to accommodate around one million people. “It is initially looking at a small volume of residential and commercial applications, gathering intelligence on those applications and providing outputs to Duserve on how to optimise energy and other related services,” Livingstone says. He also adds that the aim of this project is to be able to form a joint venture for Duserve that can serve a larger customer base in the MENA region.
