The aim of Riyadat has and always been and always will be to empower the Bahraini women entrepreneurs. This past Ramadhan, the Riyadat management team hosted an event to continue with the corporate culture of empowering Women Business Start Up owners.
The event took place in the Riyadat Mall’s main lobby. It hosted a Bazaar type market where vendors across all the different business sectors showcased their products to the public. The event was a great success to all the vendors and customers that came to get a Ramadhan themed event. To stay true to the customs of the Holy month, many traditional games, and foods were on display. This brought a great sense of community as many people got the opportunity to play old traditional games like “Kairam” and dominos, while others experienced relatively newer forms of entertainment like the popular card game “Bahrain Deal”.
The most unique aspect of this year’s “ Ramadhaniyat at Riyadat” was the fact that some of the vendors were children ranging from the age of 7-11! These mini entrepreneurs set the visitors alight with their adorable business skills as well the exceptional items for sale that which were completely prepared by them! The little girls set up a lemonade stand that offered small treats like cookies and brownies. The aim was to actually let the kids test their products in a real market place. This experience can be considered their first attempt at entrepreneurship. It will be a memorable experience and hopefully it will remain a part of them for the rest of their future business endeavors.
