Palestinian Co-Working Hub, Gaza Sky Geeks, Successfully Crowdfunded $279,000

In line with its recent goals at nurturing a tech startup scene in Gaza, Gaza Sky Geeks, accelerator and co-working hub, successfully raised $279,000 in a crowdfunding campaign to launch Gaza’s first coding academy, ZDnet reported on January 24th. Having has exceeded the initial $95,000 target, GSG will used these funds to help staff the academy, as well as purchase a generator and fuel, so that coders and entrepreneurs can work during Gaza’s frequent power outages.

The cost advantage of using Gazan developers, GSG, means investors can access talent and test out their ideas at a lower cost than in many other markets.
