Omani’s Riyada Extends Deadline for Entrepreneurship Award Competition

The Omani’s Public Authority for SMEs Development, Riyada, has extended the deadline for participation in the third edition of the Entrepreneurship Award.

The final date for registration is now August 22nd, said Riyada in an official statement. All interested parties can submit their applications via the official website of the competition. Riyada has received over 255 applications so far. The Sultanate of Oman established the Entrepreneurship Award in 2014 as a part of its long-term efforts to assist SMEs and entrepreneurs to increase their skills and competencies.

Badriya Al Hinai, the Project Manager of the Award, pointed out how important it was for the applicants to fill in the documents correctly. They first needed to choose the right category, to make sure they met all the criteria and to attach all the requested paperwork. The successful completion of these steps would have a positive impact on the final selection, added Al Hinai.

This year, there will be 15 awards, divided into three main categories: Best Entrepreneur, Best Educational Initiative, Best Media Initiative, and Best SME Development Initiative. There will also be an Entrepreneurship Award for SME. It includes Best Home Business, Best Micro Business, Best Small Business (industrial, trading, service) and Best Medium Business (industrial, trading, service).

For parties interested in supporting entrepreneurship and SMEs, the third category gives away the following prizes — Best Support from Large Company, Best Support from a Government Institution and Best Financial Support.
