MAGNiTT, MENA’s leading startup platform, signed a partnership agreement with JEIA (Jordanian Entrepreneurship and Innovation Association) to support with the promotion of Jordanian startups to the wider ecosystem under the support of the Association. MAGNiTT will support the startups by providing them access to the directory to support identifying investors for fundraising and a discounted pricing for subscriptions. Over time they will look to promote graphical representation of the Jordanian ecosystem and developments of the ongoing discussions to support founders and investors.
The MoU was signed with the support of HE Mr. Muthanna Al Gharaybeh, Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, between Mr. Mohammed Al Shaker, Chairman of the Jeia Association, and Mr. Philip Bahoshy, CEO of MAGNiTT, during the first Digital Orient Forum, And Entrepreneurship in the Mashreq Countries in a two-day partnership between the Jordanian Government and the World Bank.
Bahoshy highlighted, “The committee in Jordan is the first of it’s kind across the MENA region. An Entrepreneur driven association who have an active dialogue with the government to enact change while highlighting the challenges and opportunities to foster Entrepreneurship.” He also highlighted the importance “of connecting ecosystems. Not only to support founders within their countries but to help them connect opportunities outside as they look to scale”.
The forum brought together government partners and private sector representatives from Jordan, Lebanon and Iraq, as well as executives from international and regional businesses and investors. Digital transformation is a unique opportunity to help the Mashreq economies address many of the social and economic challenges to achieving sustainable economic growth and building inclusive societies.
