INJAZ Bahrain 2016 National Company Competition And Annual Appreciation Lunch

INJAZ Bahrain, a leading non-profit organization focused on youth economic empowerment, recently concluded the 8th Company of the Year Competition & 2016 Annual Appreciation lunch at the Diplomat Radisson Blu Hotel on 3rd May 2016 sponsored by GPIC.

The competition event witnessed youth participants showcasing their entrepreneurial achievements, and concluded with crowning of:

“Roshena” team from The Ibn Khuldoon National School as the winner of the “High School Company of the Year”, and “Avenir” team from The University of Bahrain as the winner of “University Company of the Year”.  

This year, for the first time, awarded Student companies for Best Social Impact and Best Product.

The “Bahrain Bayan School Innovators” team from The Bahrain Bayan School  won the High School Product of the Year2016,

The “Avenir” team from The University of Bahrain won the University Product of the Year2016,

The “Tickpills” team from Al Eman Girls Private School won High School Company for Best Social Impact 2016 and

The “iEnjoy and Benefit” team from the University of Bahrain won University Company for Best Social Impact 2016

Commenting on the conclusion of the event Her Highness Sheikha Hessa Bint Khalifa Al Khalifa, the Executive Director of INJAZ Bahrain said: “We at INJAZ Bahrain are immensely proud of all our participating students’ hard work. Through this competition they displayed integral skills including innovation, creativity and teamwork, which will pave the way when they progress professionally as the future business leaders of Bahrain. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who contributed to the success of the Company Competition especially our esteemed judging panel, our partners, our event volunteers and the school coordinators. And special appreciation to the Ministry of Education for their continued support of our programmes and volunteers and for offering all schools this opportunity, which is essential to INJAZ Bahrain’s success.”

The winning teams were selected based on the scores provided by a judging panel, which consisted of professionals from several institutes and organizations in the Kingdom of Bahrain.  The winning team from both Categories (High School and University) will represent INJAZ Bahrain and the Kingdom at the regional INJAZ competition taking place in the Kingdom in Bahrain in November this year.

The winning teams received the trophies from Sheikha Hessa Bint Khalifa Al Khalifa, Executive Director of INJAZ Bahrain and Dr. Abdul Rahman Jawahery, Chairman of INJAZ Bahrain.

This year 17 teams from 14 secondary schools and 2 from Universities participated in the competition. These participants are as follows: Al-Eman Girls Private School, Isa Town Secondary Boys School, West Riffa Secondary Girls School, Al-Taawon Secondary Boys School, Al Aahad AL Zaher Secondary Girls School, Sitra Secondary Girls School, British School of Bahrain, Abdulrahman Kanoo International School, Arabian Pearl Gulf School, Ibn Khuldoon National School, Sh. Hessa Girls School, Bahrain Bayan School, Nasser Vocational Training Centre, Ahlia University and University of Bahrain.

As part of INJAZ Bahrain appreciation and gratitude to all its partners, an appreciation lunch was also held to recognize and honor all supporters and volunteers who participated throughout the year 2015/2016. The attendance included the volunteers who supported INJAZ Bahrain in the delivery of its 15 programs over the year 2015/2016, board members, staff, and Ministry of Education representatives.

Over the previous academic year, INJAZ Bahrain’s programs reached more than 20,000 students, 130 schools, as well as 5 universities. This tremendous accomplishment would not have been possible without our dedicated 800 volunteers who devoted their time and effort to empower the next generation of Bahrainis to own their economic success with our entrepreneurship, work-readiness and financial literacy based programs, as well as the corporate strategic partners who serve on the organization’s board and the important role the Ministry of Education played in facilitating the program implementation in all schools. All volunteers were honored at the event and presented with certificates of appreciation and a special honoring of 70 Outstanding Volunteers.
