Global Shapers’ Launch Manama Hub

The local chapter of the Global Shapers network launched yesterday under the patronage of HE Sh. Mohammed bin Essa Al Khalifa, Political and Economic Advisor to the Crown Prince and Chairman of Tamkeen. The event, held at Capital Club, celebrated the Manama Hub and introduced attendees to current and future projects.

The Global Shapers network is an initiative of the World Economic Forum with over 400 hubs in cities worldwide. Founded and led by youth, members are exceptional in their potential and work together to make a difference within their communities. The Manama Hub currently consists of 15 Global Shapers between the ages of 20 to 30 from diverse backgrounds, who are experts in their respective fields and are committed to creating positive impact both locally and globally.

During the launch, the members detailed the Hub’s values and vision for the upcoming year, along with presenting Khibra, a joint project between the Global Shapers’ Manama Hub and Tamkeen. An online platform, Khibra will create opportunities for entrepreneurs and career professionals through mentoring and coaching, and will also display internship and volunteering opportunities.

The Hub also stressed the importance of youth in unlocking potential and working together towards improving their local communities.

Among the attendees were representatives of Tamkeen, EDB and BDB, along with others.
