Founder and CEO of CTM360 stresses the importance of cybersecurity in Bahrain, here’s everything he said

Mr. Mirza Asrar Baig, founder, and CEO of CTM360 assured the importance of enhancing cooperation between public and private sectors to face cyber threats. Delivered during his talk at MEETICT 2018, Mr. Mirza emphasized on effective cybersecurity as a key pillar for progress, especially as Bahrain shifts towards digital transformation, cloud computing, big data and other technological advances.

Mr. Mirza also provided an extensive workshop on the topic: “Demystifying Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI)” which was conducted during the 3rd day of the MEET ICT conference. The said workshop hosted over 30 delegate attendees and focused on global CTI frameworks and effective CTI consumption by corporate organizations.
During the talk, Mr. Mirza highlighted the advanced position of Bahrain in ITU’s Global Cybersecurity Index, as well as applauding TRA efforts to obligate the required standards, including legal, technical and organizational aspects. He also noted the importance of continuing those efforts to build a safer electronic environment and achieving sustainable benefits from digital transformation; the readiness level of cybersecurity in the ICT sector needs to be strengthened in order to be vigilant and resilient against ever-evolving cyber threats.

Mr. Mirza added that cyber threats might impact large governmental and private institutions operating in vital sectors such as water, electricity, transport and other networks; however, coordinating efforts in accordance with best local and global practices could prevent such threats.

He emphasized the importance of cybersecurity measures and awareness that institutions must take to enhance their security posture. This includes training and directing employees and also making the C-level executives situationally aware.
