Egypt’s pet-care startup raises seed funding from Pmaestro

VetCode, an Egyptian pet-care startup announced that it has raised seed funding from Pmaestro, a Cairo-based technology company. The investment made is at a pre-money valuation of $450,000, although the exact amount of the funding wasn’t disclosed. According to MENAbytes report, Mohammed Mounir Al Ahwal, Pmaestro’s Managing Director, stated that the investment made is a combination of cash and services.

The startup VetCode was launched at the beginning of the year by Ahmed AlBadawy and Ahmed Maher. Available through a mobile app, the app has multiple features for pet lovers, including requesting healthcare, adopting, mating, and even training. And if you can’t take your pet to the vet, you can request a veterinarian pass by your house for a check up!

According to VetCode’s CEO, Ahmed ElBadawy, the app is available in 12 cities across Egypt, with more than 200 veterinary clinics within their network. In addition, VetCode is used by over 30,000 users as of yet.

It’s also worth noting that VetCode was amongst the winners of RiseUp Summit pitch competition.
