Dubai Hosts FinTech Summit

The Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA) and the business facilitator Naseba will co-host the second Fintech Summit on October 30 in the UAE.

The event will welcome over 120 decision makers from the banking, insurance, and finance sectors to discuss the latest FinTech developments. It will also feature keynote speakers from industry leaders as well as pre-arranged meetings between FinTech solution providers and senior DFSA executives.

The prominent speakers to take part in the event include the UK Prime Minister’s Ambassador for FinTech, Alastair Lukies , the COO of Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, Sagheer Mufti; the SVP of Innovation and Fintech at Emirates NBD, Naimish Shah.

Bryan Stirewalt, DFSA’s Managing Director of Supervision commented:

Financial institutions have to harness innovations in technology to improve efficiencies and better solutions and services to customers. The DFSA is pleased to partner with Naseba to offer an appropriate platform to facilitate discussions on latest initiatives in this fast-developing space.

The summit is part of the long-term efforts of HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to make the UAE a hub for innovation and technology and an attractive place for FinTech investments. In line with this policy, earlier in August the DFSA launched a crowdfunding framework for loan and investment platforms. It allows startups to test their concepts on a restricted basis with the DIFC without being subject to regulations.
