DressCode raises $250k in funding, aims to build presence in the home decor market

Cairo-based fashion and ecommerce platform DressCode announced late last week that it had raised $250k in funding from Egypt Ventures. The startup now plans on leveraging this new capital to expand beyond the fashion and cosmetics market.

This means that DressCode will now be focusing on expanding its home decor offerings alongside the usual product lines.

The company claims to have already fulfilled more than 30,000 orders since its launch in 2019. The platform also says that it has now a dedicated user-base, further adding that its SKUs grew from 300 to 6,000 in just a year.

Besides being an online aggregator for various brands, DressCode also has its own private label. In fact, nearly three-fourth of the company’s offerings consist of its own product lines. The company makes its products in more than 35 local workshops, which collectively employ more than 1,400 individuals from across the country.

Commenting on DressCode’s rapid success, the Chairman and CEO of Egypt Ventures, noted “DressCode has the potential to make an impact on the Egyptian market.” [….]Through combining a scalable, agile business model and partnering with local workshop all over Egypt.“
