The 6th Islamic Economy Award is kicking off on October 30th, at the Madinat Jumeriah, Dubai, and it’s on the lookout for innovative world-class business initiatives and ideas that contribute to the social and economic welfare of the Muslim population.

Held under the patronage of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and directed by HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, the Islamic Economy Award was launched in 2013 and is organized by Dubai Chambers and Dubai the Capital of Islamic Economy, and independently managed by Thomson Reuters.

The Award is divided into eight key Islamic economy categories, in addition to the “Lifetime Achievement Award”, these include:

  1. Money and Finance
  2. Food and Health
  3. Media
  4. Hospitality and Tourism
  5. Waqf and Endowments
  6. SME Development
  7. Islamic Economy Knowledge Infrastructure
  8. Islamic Arts
  9. Lifetime Achievement Award

The nominees of the Islamic Economy Award will be evaluated on: Innovation; Social Impact; Inspiring Stories; Geographical Scope of Impact; Economic Impact.
