Barclays Official Sponsor of Dubai’s Mind Cloud Entrepreneurship Program

The British investment bank Barclays announced its sponsorship for the Mind Cloud Entrepreneurship program, part of the UAE’s series of support initiatives for startup founders.

The program is part of the UAE’s long-term policy to establish a knowledge-based economy. It works together with the Dubai Business Women Council, a pioneering platform for the personal and professional development of women in the Gulf.

The Mind Cloud Entrepreneurship program starts officially in September. It offers practically-oriented courses in a wide range of subjects such as marketing, sales, business development, finance, design thinking, and more. Many VIP facilitators will join to share their valuable experiences with the students. At the end of the studies, the participants will be given a KHNDA-certified Diploma. As an official sponsor of the event, Barclays will also offer continuous mentorship to interested parties.

Andrew Mortimer, CEO at Barclays MENA, commented:

At Barclays, we are passionate about helping people and businesses achieve their ambitions, in the right way. The Dubai Business Women Council’s Mind Cloud Entrepreneurship program is a promising initiative that allows us to actively help entrepreneur women achieve their potential and grow their businesses while supporting the local economy.

Dr Raja AL Gurg, the DBWC President, said that partnership with Barclays would open many new horizons to the start up ecosystem in the area. She confirmed that the interest in the program was huge. Many entrepreneurs have lodged applications hoping to showcase their business ideas and contribute to the economy.
