Bahrain Labour Fund Tamkeen just organized an introductory session called “Promoting the Spirit of Initiative and Creativity to Promote the Sustainable Development Goals” during Bahrain’s participation in the UN High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development that was held in New York.
Cabinet Affairs Minister Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Mutawa, head of Bahrain’s delegation touched upon the multiple successes Bahrain has had in the filed of SDGs. This includes Tamkeen as a national body that continuously contributes to the development of Bahrain. The Minister also highlighted the government’s interest in investing in the human element in all its plans and programs.
Similarly, Tamkeen’s CEO Dr. Ebrahim Janahi stated that promoting the SDGs is one of Tamkeen’s highest priorities. He also adds that the session was a good opportunity to highlight Tamkeen’s successful efforts to support the national economy and human cadres’ development.
The session shed light on the national efforts to develop environments supportive to emerging enterprises. It also drew attention to Tamkeen’s role, since its inception in 2006, in creating opportunities for promoting the private sector.
